I liked this piece , I liked the use of the trumpet , I always think of the life of the city when I hear this instrument solo . What key were you in most of the time? Just curious Bob Forrest

Hello Bob,

I really am not thinking in key. The piece does favor Ab and Eb tonal centers. The key is notated as Ab, but, since it is chromatic I really could fall in other keys. I tend to write in a polytonal to atonal style.

This was exceptional! It's so great to hear a live recording of this piece! Very nice! And again, it sure reminds of the writing style of Bernhard Heiden. You should be so pleased!!!

Thanks Gary. I was not trying to copy him, but it is a compliment. Bernard was a student of Paul Hindemith who is one of the composers that I try to emulate.
