GCPO - my best friend!

Postby hymndescants.org » Fri Dec 20, 2013 8:40 am

Nothing has given a boost to my own compositional activity than adding GCPO realizations to my Finale scores. (I primarily write for choirs/congregations accompanied by pipe organ.) I thought I would share one of my favorites, which shows off GCPO's prowess - you can hear the different registrations (and that awesome 16ft bass reed). At the beginning of this setting, the trompettes en chamade are featured, the horizontal trumpet pipes at the back of the room, often referred to by organists as 'party horns.'

This is the 17th C. tune from Cologne, http://hymndescants.org/lasst-uns-erfreuen.

Enjoy!

It really does sound wonderful, "hymndescants." I'm excited to see such a good example of the Garritan Classic Pipe Organs Library being used - Those postings have been too rare online.

Wow! Beautiful! What a fine example of great organ-writing (and choral writing) and use of the Garritan organ library. Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing! :)
