Useless support

Postby Lordgeous » Mon Nov 30, 2015 11:02 am

I recently purchased the Garritan CFX Grand, needing a top-rate piano for a project over the last weekend. After installation I was instructed to open the standalone Aria Player but no such item seemed to be installed. A quick note to "Support", automated email response received but since then NOTHING, despite a couple of follow-up emails from me. So, unable to use the CFX on an important project.

Finally, searching the web I found somewhere where I could download the Aria Player (couldnt find it on this site at all!). This i did and finally was able to authorise the software. This now seems to work fine as a plug-in but I've had no luck getting it to work as a stand-alone instrument. It opens up and I can load the CFX into it but its not responding to midi input.

Any ideas anyone? I've never had such crap service, well, NO service from a major supplier before, which puts me off purchasing any other Garritan product. I hope Gary reads this! Disappointed and frustrated!

Just as an aside, I don't think Gary has anything more to do with the company.
I heard that about a year ago he left MakeMusic, despite the fact that the libraries bear his name.
Blame MakeMusic and their recent move to another part of the U.S. by all means.
I think the last thing Gary did was to oversee the sampling for GPO5 at Abbey Road studios.

If you have an ARIA player problem, as I've written several times, try the Plogue site, as they are the creators of the application for MakeMusic. They really are very responsive to queries posted there.
http://www.plogue.com/phpBB2/index.php
Scroll to the foot of the forum and you'll find an ARIA section there.

But makemusic really could publicise better the locations of the ARIA player and the engine upgrades.
