Simple Reinstall Question

Postby MrMook » Wed Mar 18, 2015 4:18 pm

I have GPO4, GIO and World.

My C drive went bad and I'm trying to reinstall and activate with a new drive.

I've install Aria. My libraries are on another drive so I don't think I have to reinstall those.

I've downloaded new keycards but when I try to activate by dragging a keycard into Aria I get a "This card doesn't belong to any installed product: (Product Name)"

Not sure what I need to do. I don't think I have to install my libraries again since they are still there.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave-

Sadly, I think you're going to have to do a reinstall.

The reason?
Within Windows registry are pointers to the installation directory(ies) of the various sample libraries. This is a perfectly normal procedure, not just limited to Garritan products. When you lost your C drive these registry entries went too.

Somehow they need re-establishing.
IO and World have fairly simple registry entries and could, theoretically be entered manually.
However GPO4's registry entry is extremely convoluted, at least for the novice registry editor.

Honestly, my advice would be to bite the bullet and do a re-install.
It really doesn't take too long. (Voice of experience.)

Sorry!
