Saving settings in Aria

Postby Nobax » Tue Jan 21, 2014 2:47 am

No matter how I try, if I save a set of chosen samples as an ensemble and give it a filename, I cannot load it later, it appears under 'user' in the load options, but when I choose it, the settings aren't changed and everything shows 'empty'. I know that it will be an issue with me rather than the system, just can't figure it out! Best wishes, Andy

Hello, Nobax

Are you trying to save a set of Garritan instruments as an ensemble you can use again, such as a string quartet? If so, are you clicking the Ensemble window at the upper right in ARIA and then clicking Save?

You're correct that a customized Ensemble will then show up in the "User" category of the menu, and you can also load the same list by clicking "Load" - but that calls for an extra click since a pop-up appears with the list of your user Ensembles.

There's another "User" category of instruments which can be loaded from the regular instrument slots. If you have any custom or third party SFZ instruments, those can show up there - But those are different from the Ensembles.

You're probably doing things correctly, in which case the problem is elsewhere. I'm not positive, but there may have been a problem with saving Ensembles in an earlier version of ARIA. So, make sure you have the current version of ARIA by going to the link below. You'll need to be signed in at MM, then scroll down the page until you see ARIA Player 1.620:
