No notifications for new topics SOLVED-um, well, no

Thank you, Fred, for setting up this new "Forum Feedback" section. As you said, it's much better to have these Forum functioning posts corralled into one area, rather than sprinkled throughout the other Forums.

So, this was mentioned on another thread (or more?) - and I'm posting the topic here now, because this morning I can confirm it as still being an issue. I'm not getting email notifications for new threads, but initially, and briefly I was.

I saw this morning that two new threads had been started that I wasn't aware of until I was here looking around. Those two new threads are:

In Off-topic - "Finale, Garritan Sounds, and Reverb" and "A Performance With A Difference."

I'm getting notification for new posts on threads I've previously visited, but not for brand new threads.

Hey All-

We've been looking into this in a bit more detail and it appears that when a user subscribes to the Garritan forum, they do get notifications. However, the items at the top of the forum, e.g., Tips and Techniques, are treated as separate forums, and must be subscribed to individually to receive notifications.

Please let us know if subscribing to each fixes the issue.

Ah ha! That has to be it. I had a look just now, and just as you said, each one of these top pages have individual "subscribe" controls at the bottom. I clicked each one, and I'm rather sure now I'll be notified when a post appears anywhere in this Garritan group.

There is one exception - This forum we're in right now, "Forum Feedback" doesn't have a "subscribe" control available.

Well, now I've edited the subject line again, because when I came to the Forum today, I was surprised to see that there were a number of new threads, none of which I was notified about.

I'm subscribed individually to all sub-Forums, as per the instructions on this thread. But once again, new threads aren't getting me emails.

Definitely not getting notifications for new topics, as I said yesterday. Just wanted to confirm that. When I come here, discover new threads, I'll see that there's an option to subscribe to that one particular thread - Unlike the threads I've already visited which all have the subscribe option automatically selected because of the global subscription option I've activated for that particular Forum. See what I mean? Old threads indicate I'm subscribed, as they should - When I find new threads, they don't indicate I'm subscribed and I so have to manually subscribe to them individually.

And that's not the way it was working when I added "SOLVED" to this thread's subject line, but have had to amend that again since things are again not working right.
