A helpful suggestion: It may save time if new forum members are encouraged to include useful information in their signatures, such as computer specs, Finale products owned, Garritan libraries owned, Aria player and engine versions, DAW, and sound card, to name a few items. A lack of this information in the Finale forum often requires posters to ask these questions of new posters, spawning at least another round of questions and responses. So if someone places this information in his signature on signup, he can get helpful responses faster. Just a thought.

That's an excellent suggestion, Art. Several times now I've thought I should stop and add some information, and your post now inspires me to do that.

I notice that some people have apparently used some settings in their Profile that makes information appear on the right hand side, under reputation. I'm going to try that first, so I can keep my signature itself simple the way it is now. I'll see what I can come up with.

Good--thanks again, Art.

EDIT:
That was easy - I used the option in the Profile settings, where you can list software that you use. That made it appear on the right where I think it looks nice.

I like your idea better! When I have more time, maybe later today, I'll change things around in my profile and signature.

I played around with it, Art. The text is preset, "Software Owned" ("Software Used" would be better I think) - so I listed instruments and programs there, and then added hardware in my sig the way you have it. The long list on the right is making my posts take up more screen space, but I guess that's OK.

In any case, glad you brought this up. You're right, that it's helpful to see what people are using, and it'll be especially helpful when dealing with technical issues.

Yup. That's why.
