Is it possible to load music XML in template?

Import Music XML create a new file. Is it possible to open the xml in an existing (open) file in Finale 25?

Hello Cees,

That is the one part of the Dolet plug-in functionality that is not directly available in the File menu for Finale v25.

You should be able to work around this by temporarily changing your Finale default file to the template that you want to use for a particular MusicXML file import.

Mmm.. ok. Thanks! Another question: I'm playing midi events in Studio One. That arrangement can be opend in Notion (Presonus). In Notion I'm hearing the good quantization of notes (length, timing). When I export that file as Music XML and open in Finale than Finale plays the 'notated value'. Is it possible that Music XML can handle the notated value and the original value?

MusicXML can handle the exact timing of the notes, but a lot of software does not support this yet. Finale's import and export tend to handle only limited cases, like placing grace notes on the beat or before the beat.

It would be interesting to know if Notion is exporting the timing information to MusicXML. Would it be possible for you to share a Notion file and the resulting MusicXML file that demonstrate this issue?
