How to specify a score revision

Postby zimrahdev » Sat Nov 14, 2015 10:07 am

After having done some searching, I have not been able to find a way to specify revision text for a given score.
My idea is to be able to identify ongoing revisions of the same score - this could be a simple number, compound number (1.2), or text (draft, release, release 2, etc).

Are there any plans to add this kind of information to MusicXml ?

There is indeed no standardized way to specify revisions with MusicXML 3.0. Any addition like this would need to be discussed at the W3C Music Notation Community Group, which is driving the development of future MusicXML versions.

Follow the above link and click on the "JOIN THIS GROUP" button. That will start you through the process. If you are working on music notation for an organization (even if it is your own startup company), please be sure to join as an organizational representative. That signup is on the left-hand side of the web page.

Once you are a member of the group, you can read and contribute to discussions on the public-music-notation-contrib mailing list.
