Hide Clef?

Postby Prosonic Studios » Sun Jan 04, 2015 10:46 am

Greetings!

I've been working with MusicXML for a couple of years now it's been real challenge and joy to work with. MusicXML has been a massive undertaking and I want to thank you for making it available to the world!

Question: Is it possible to hide all clefs?

I have tried
Code: Select all
<clef print-object="no">
but that doesn't seem to work in Sibelius.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The documentation (http://www.musicxml.com/UserManuals/MusicXML/MusicXML.htm#CT-MusicXML-clef.htm) clearly states: "Clefs appear at the start of each system unless the print-object attribute has been set to 'no' ". So I think your approach is correct and the MusicXML import of Sibelius is to blame.
Are you using Dolet? http://www.musicxml.com/dolet-plugin/dolet-6-plugin-for-sibelius-5-1-and-later/

That's what I was afraid of. I haven't been using dolet, I'll get it and see if that helps.

Thanks for your help Hans!

The Dolet for Sibelius plug-in only does export from Sibelius to MusicXML, not import from MusicXML to Sibelius. So I don't think that it will help here.
