Going from Logic Pro X to Sibelius.

Postby sus4 » Thu Dec 18, 2014 11:58 am

I tried importing a file from Logic Pro X using MusicXML into Sibelius and it didn't look anything like a score that I'm used to doing in Sibelius. I tried different version of XML and it still didn't look close to what it should be in Sibelius. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to do add a plugin or do something different? It would really save a lot of time if I could import from Logic to Sibelius other wise I would just have to do it the regular way of writing in Sibelius instrument by instrument. I also use JABB3. My goal is to enter my arrangement into Logic Pro X (DAW) and play it through JABB3 and then import it into Sibelius. If I can do this it would save me the time of entering the arrangement into Sibelius manually.
Thanks.

A Music Xml file uploaded could help identifying your problem.

Under the text field you see the text "Upload attachment". Click this and you have a button with the text "Browse". Then click on the button to the right "ADD THE FILE". I think that was what I did.

Sorry, I need some help here. Where is the text field, on this page, in Logic or Sibelius?

Well, we're getting closer. I just chose two files and the message here said they were both invalid. I chose an XML file and an Logic file. What kind of file am I supposed to send you?

I would say: A Music Xml file from Logic Pro - as short as possible, but still showing the error when imported in Sibelius. The extension should be .xml and the file look like "<?xml version="1.0" ....
<!DOCTYPE .... MusicXML 2.0". Later you shall see something like "<software>Sibelius 7.0.0</software>" where "Sibelius" is replaced by some Logic Pro stuff. If the file will not upload, then zip it.
Kind regards
