Smaller note size

Postby Simon Giddings » Wed Jul 10, 2013 11:44 am

Hello everyone,

When exporting to MusicXML, how can I specify that a given note has a
"smaller" display size ? In MuseScore, I am able to indicate that the the note is smaller than usual, so I expected that this formatting information should be able to be exported.

Hope that this is indeed possible.

Thanks in advance Simon Giddings

Hello Simon,

I think you're looking for <type size="cue"> as defined in the note.mod DTD. Options for the size attribute are full, cue, and large. The size of the cue, large, and grace notes can be defined using the note-size element in the layout.mod DTD.

Note that cue notes have a cue size by default, and playing notes have a full size by default. The size attribute of the type element lets you specify full-sized silent (cue) notes or small-size regular notes.

Best regards,
