Does anyone know what happened to the original Garritan forum (NorthernSounds)?

I have many of my original compositions posted on that forum and have been a member for over twelve years. I can no longer access the forum. Has it been discontinued. Have we been dropped like the proverbial hot potato after we provided support for such a long time?

I would appreciate any information you could supply to me. Thanks in advance.

Larry- there are a couple of other threads hereabouts concerning NS.. Sadly, it seems have crashed. All attempts to reach it, the domain server and any of the many NS pages not related to Garritan return the DNS lookup failed error "server DNS address could not be found".

I can't ping the site, likewise I can't trace it back to the server's IP address, even at the root. It's just not there to be found - at least not by anything I recall from my old life in the IT biz. The entire site was run and when needed, repaired by a man we all knew only as Pa Pa Chalk. Sadly, no one has his real name or email address. As a result, we're pretty much out of luck.

I sent a message to Randy Bowser as he seemed to have a link to Pa Pa Chalk. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any info either on how to get in touch with him. All we can do is wait or rely on this Garritan site to converse with each other for the time being.

It would be a lot easier to follow this problem if this discussion were limited to the General SubForum (where it started) since Media seems a much less logical place for it.

I also contacted Randy today. He said it was probably hacked. We'll just have to hope PPC gets it back up.
