Metamorphosis - Trumpet Solo

It's been awhile since I've posted here. This is a new work for Trumpet and Piano that I composed yesterday. It is based on quartel harmony. It is a challenging piece for a player with good skills and range (ah, yes, I can play it!) It was conceived from a Dalby exercise I use as a warm-up.

Dear Bill,
I listened again to your piece.
To my ears it is like being too much pre-delay on the piano channel,
so it sounds as its low notes were doubled by an acoustic bass.
But I could be wrong and the double bass be actually there…

It would also be nice to have a live recording of this!

Ah, Fabio I hear that too. I am not the "technician" so I sometimes get it wrong. I was playing with the equalization in the Aria Engine and probably have the pre-delay up to high. I wear hearing aids, but all they do is amplify the sound, so I don't always hear exactly what is coming out of the speaker.

Hey Bill!

I haven't posted anything on here for a long while, but I had to tell you how much I enjoyed your piece. Loved the writing! It really reminded me of my long gone days of playing french horn for my senior recital. Did a contemporary piece by a composer name Bernard Heiden. The last movement was similar in style to Metamorphosis. Your piece brought back very fond memories.
