Whoa !!! Congrats on getting the software to work at all. I had a hell of a time getting things configured correctly. Reading through the tutorials in here, will help a lot in time. I had the benefit of Michael B, and Randy Bowsers help during my initial learning curve, searching their posts will yield many answers. So, I am going to tell you what I was told...
1. your mix ! you use reaper already, this could be mixed better
2. the content, I empathize with you, as a guitarist also, listen to other composers, try to make future compositions less "guitaristic". Personally, I hear a lot of compositions that use high end products play 1m-b7maj-b6maj-5.
3. I am using finale 2011 PM music software, and use simple entry method to notate what I am writing, only recently have explored exporting .mid files and importing those into reaper. I don't know what method you are using therefore cannot comment.
congrats, and good luck !

Thanks for the feedback Kingfreeze.

1. Yes my mixing isn't the best as I have to do it on headphones which aren't up to the job tbh.
2. I agree listening to other composers is no bad thing.
3. Mostly my midi stuff was on the fly using the keyboard and editing it on the midi editor in Reaper DAW. Takes some time but I'm getting there. I do have Guitar Pro 5 to score with too so I might give that a go.

Thanks again
