Handel Organ Concerto In F ~ 1st Movement

Postby Michael.B » Mon Dec 23, 2013 11:23 am

To follow on from my previous post of the Handel Organ Concerto in F, this is my 'performance' of the First Movement.

As with my previous post of the Second Movement, this 1st Movement was created with Finale then Sonar, entirely using an early version of GPO. Again, this is a very early attempt of mine when I first started working with Garritan libraries.

Handel Organ Concerto In F (Cukoo and Nightingale) 1st Movement

Should anyone like to listen to them together, the following link is for both movements, 1st Movement followed by the 2nd Movement.

Handel Organ Concerto In F (Cuckoo and Nightingale) 1st and 2nd Movements

Again, as mentioned previously, I hope to rework this using the latest Finale 2014, which I now have, the new Garritan Classic Pipe Organs library (to replace the original GPO organ) and Sonar X3.

I hope you enjoy these and thanks for listening in. :)

Like the first post, it sounds really nice, Michael--Why did you post the 2nd movement first? Did you think it was a stronger performance/rendering/recording/whatever it is we do? I think they're equally strong.

Hello Randy,

Thank you for your comment; you're very kind.

I originally did the 2nd movement first as I felt it was more challenging (being my first attempt at using GPO of a completed recording). Also, the second movement is the title movement (Cuckoo and Nightingale) and I wanted to 'have a go' at it.

I then turned to the first movement a short while later and found that had its own unexpected challenges. I enjoyed working on this too.

For posting in these forums I suppose I just kept my original order of things.

Thanks again for your reply Randy, it's much appreciated. :)
