Thank you, Credo, for taking the time to provide this excellent information. I work mainly with GPO4 and COMB2. I find the trumpet samples in COMB2 to be very strident--so much so that I often dial their highs down to -7 or -8 for a mellower yet still trumpet-like sound. Not complaining--this is ju...
Okay, an update. I've solved the problem by distributing the samples equally between the right and left hand hits, four each, so there's no longer an alternate silence at highest velocities. However, after some experimentation I've discovered that the top (highest velocity of the eight) sample is l...
Fake? The samples aren't fake sounding at all....they're just super dry. Putting them in a decent sounding 'virtual room' takes some patience and practice...with ANY brass recordings or samples. Getting the Brass and Big Band Library to sound like that Demo is INDEED very possible. Particularly if y...
That's a very vague question. Tocatta and Fugue arrangements have been created and translated or transposed for almost any combination of instruments imaginable. If you're shooting for 'authentic' then a good Pipe Organ sound is likely to be your target. Also, it's pretty important to consider if yo...
I find that for some reason, even when I am using a standard tuning, playing the (screen) keyboard in Aria creates distortion that obliterates the sound, whereas the same notes/instrument sounds played through Aria by Finale sound fine. Am not sure what is causing my problem or Subhraag's, but he m...
Seems to me like having 'more' than 12 tones with a monophonic patch would lead to 'less' sample stretching than scales that have fewer than 12 tones (it's when stretching pitch more than a third that stretching gets terribly obvious). Of course a polyphonic patch might grab samples from further out...
hey, thanks for such an in depth reply, very helpful! I tried updating both aria player and engine, only to find that the ambience wouldn't work in vst mode (fine in stand alone) I suspect this might relate to the dll wrapper as you mention. in the end I reverted back to my orginal versions of both...
I am using Cubase Elements 7 and Garritian Jazz plugin. I forgot to ask...what is your host Operating System? I.E. Windows XP, 7, 8, Mac, etc.... That way I can chart out an easy method to make a quick list of all of your Garritan sfz instruments. With Windows 7 I'd just do something like this: 1. ...
I am using Cubase Elements 7 and Garritian Jazz plugin. In cubase when I want to find a factory sound I load media bay and can filter to find out the instruments. That gives me a list and I can play each instrument until I find the one I want. How can I browse through all the instruments in the gar...

Make sure you have the midi part selected in CuBase, and then open your choice of an editor.
