Re: Use VST instruments in GarageBand

I could be wrong as I'm several years behind on Apple stuff, but I'm thinking that Garage Band is more geared to dealing with complete audio loops and tracks, and doesn't offer much in the line of MIDI support. To get into heavy duty MIDI controlled tracking you'll probably want to upgrade to Logic ...

Re: New to PO4

I have an Akai MPK-49 with 8 faders, 8 knobs, two wheels, and sockets for foot pedals. I use he two sockets and the wheels to a small degree. I have never found out how to use the faders and knobs. They simply don't seem to do anything. Tom Tom, I'm using an MPK as well. You simply need to build an...

Re: sync two computers playing back?

If you intend to sync two stand alone ARIA players, I'm not aware of a way to do this. If your intention is to sync multiple sequencers or DAWs, then yes, it's possible with many advanced DAW systems (CueBase here, and it supports a number of sync types since the late 1980s). What DAW or sequencer d...

Re: Installing Instant Orchestra as plugin

Mac or PC? For Windows systems look (usually on drive C, but it can be installed on other drives as well): C:\Program Files\Garritan\Aria Player and or C:\Program Files (x86)\Garritan\Aria Player You should see a VST folder with regular and multiple output VST dll wrappers. In my case there are both...

Re: Bouncing Midi Tracks to Audio via the Aria Player

Hi Derrek. Thanks for the the reply. I've discovered that i need to solo the instrument aux channel (bussed to the audio channel's input) as well as solo the respective midi channel in order to render it to audio. Perhaps there's a more efficient way but that's the best I can see for now! I'm assum...

Re: PO4 sometimes sounds slightly out of tune.  <SOLVED>

If it's simply tuning of the fundamental pitch for a single note, you could micro tune the notes in real time with pitch bend events. If the entire phrase is fundamentally out of tune, you can tune the entire patch with the main Aria Interface. aria1.png If the sample is fundamentally in tune, but t...

Re: Anyway to make more channel-like function?

Thanks so much Credo. I am using Personal Orchestra 4, which comes with 2 different dlls, one being just for a single audio output and the other multi. The later is the one you mentioned for creating different audio output. You mentioned about Aria 2 in your first paragraph. Is this Aria 2 the same...

Re: Garritan Classic Pipe Organs, Latency, Note Delay

Try lowering the ASIO buffer size. If you're working with a DAW, then you'll have to control it from there. If you're just using Aria as a stand alone, then you can adjust the buffer size in the tools/preferences menu. Too large of a buffer can lead to higher latency. Too small of a buffer can lead ...

Re: Anyway to make more channel-like function?

Consider opening a second instance of the Aria Player inside the DAW. At this point you should gain another 16 Aria channels to work with (typically listed as Aria 2). I'm not familiar with your specific software set-up, but every VST compliant DAW I've seen to date allows multiple instances of a VS...

Re: Brass Tutorial

I'm using high C# and still not getting my "kiss". I'm assuming the kiss in ARIA is the same kiss a trumpet player would do namely sucking the air in from his mouthpiece. Credo you mention starting the kiss a little past the note which I'm doing. I guess I just have to keep playing with i...
