Re: GPO5 - Tell Me What you Want, What You Really Really Wan

At this point I say...just focus on what matters the most. Gradually increase the existing sample set with more articulation styles. Keep fine tuning what is already there, as to 'my ears' there are a few individual samples (or small ranges in some instruments) that could use improvement (or tweakin...

Re: CFX Concert won't install to Harddrive other than system

I am on Windows rather than Mac; however, I'm pretty sure OS X allows you to use an alias, symbolic link, or directory junction on the main system drive to point to other drives. Your software will be totally convinced it's running from the system drive...... Try a google search for 'how to make a s...

Re: Portamento

My understanding so far is: 1. To engage the automatic portamento you'll need the instrument to be playing in legato mode. To make this happen with standard patches that support portamento you'll apply CC64 (standard patches) or CC68 (notation version of patches). According to this excerpt from the ...

Re: IO and GPO4

I think this may be a fairly subjective question as to how well the two sample sets 'blend' when used 'together' in the same project. I personally don't see a problem with mixing and matching the two sets in the same project, but do keep in mind that the workflow and purpose of the two sets are fund...

Disk Loss, Buffers and such...

I'm looking for tips on how to trouble shoot disk loss issues with Aria on my system. The Kit: Windows 7 64bit Motherboard is ASRock A770DE+ AMD Phenom II 1090T X6 with all cores locked and stable at 3.6ghz with multipliers (stock NB, SB, and other bus speeds). HEPT timing is disabled (tried both fo...

Re: How to use Keyswitches and Reverb?

Why am I better off adding reverb in my DAW? If you desire complex automation of your effect chain its just easier to get along with. You also get more options on where the audio is routed. Just as an example: If you use the multi output version of Aria, you can split up different patches to their ...

Re: Garritan Instruments and Mixing Levels

Hi I've just found this thread, which seems relevant to the problem I'm having - can anyone help? I'm using Aria with Logic Pro 9 as my DAW. I'm trying (for the first time) to mix an orchestral arrangement using 3 instances of Aria, one with 14 instruments loaded (woodwind/brass), one with 3 (strin...

Re: Classic Organs Collection: Emulate Stops?

Derrek, Composing and converting MIDI sequences to audio masters is no problem at all. I just double/bounce tracks across the ranks as if I were composing for a combo or orchestra. I have live playing in mind (and the possibility of easily capturing the spontanious ideas/playing over midi as I go). ...

Re: Classic Organs Collection: Emulate Stops?

Thanks briff, I've mapped out some methods to get halfway there with a combination of DAW functions (MIDI message transformations and remote track muting stuff) but so far it's still pretty awkward. In my case I've simply taken the approach of using the multiple-output version of Aria to give each c...

Re: Garritan Instruments and Mixing Levels

Don't forget that the Aria Player effects (Convolution and Ambiance) can have a pretty big impact on the perceived levels of the patches. I.E. If a channel is using such an effect and you've turned up the send for the instrument in the Aria Player then it's going to add the processed version of that...
