Re: ActorPreludeSample.xml sample, nested groups

Hi Michael, Thanks for the quick reply. I can't think of any score where one would need overlapping groups, if I look at it, it always is possible (and more clear) with nested groups. Can you give me an example of a score that needs overlapping groups to get correct results? I did search for this si...

ActorPreludeSample.xml sample, nested groups

While working on the 'group symbols' part of our software I got into trouble opening ActorPreludeSample.xml from the sample files. The groups are nested in a weird way. Although I can't find anything in the MusicXML spec disapproving this way of declaring the groups, I think it can be done better. T...

Re: How can we search this forum?

/*I don't know how long this indexing will take, but I still get only one topic, It's 3 entries, because this topic has 3 posts with the word 'lyrics' in it (now 4!). But still one topic, still not possible to search old posts.*/ [edit]Apparently I needed to clear my cache before the re-Indexed resu...

Re: How can we search this forum?

For me it's still not usable. Luckily I still have the mailing list on my computer, I can search there. At this moment I am working on reading lyrics from a musicXML file. Searching this forum with 'lyrics' or 'lyric' as a term to get all post concerning lyrics I get: 'No suitable matches were found...

Re: Notes by beats - playback of a cluster

As far as I know you shouldn't use the x-position to organize the notes, you should use the 'duration' of the 'note', 'forward' and 'backup' to determine the beat. Also take a look at the 'divisions' element. In short: The 'divisions' element at the beginning of a part tells you how many divisions a...

default-x vs adjacent notes

How should the default-x of an adjacent note be (the default-x of the G4)? this: <note default-x="29"> <pitch> <step>G</step> <octave>4</octave> </pitch> <duration>16</duration> <voice>1</voice> <type>whole</type> <staff>1</staff> <notations> <arpeggiate default-x="-22" number=&q...

Due to internal doubts on the exact licensing of this project we are temporarily closing the github project. Internal development will continue and we'll set up a website where you can use and try it without installing. Non-commercial use will always be free. We would love to get any feedback on whi...

Re: Tuplets in the notations element

I found some similar tuplets in some Durand editions, it looks nice but never catched my eye. It seems like this is used only in cramped conditions. I have no clue on how to do this in MusicXML in a semantically correct way. A slur is a curved line spanning two or more notes, not one. Also, there is...
