Re: Nested repeats in Music Xml

Could this be an algorithm for nested repeats. 1. Save the measure number of the first note 2. For all notes from start to end do if "begin repeat" then stack position if "end repeat" then pop the value and set position, if stack is not empty. If empty stack then go to same relat...

Nested repeats in Music Xml

Reading about music symbols I have not seen anything about more than one repeat. But may "repeats" be nested (or recursive) in Music XML?

Re: Library of Congress data challenge

Hello all A very interresting and important discussion. My point of view is that music-xml should be the native format of music-writing programs and players and readers. I.e. you should be able to open and save directly - no import and export (MuseScore is terrible). If some thing is missing in Musi...

Re: MusicXML community meetings in 2014

Hello Snake and others Could not help but try to implement vibrato in the player. Added the vibrato command as proposed into the XML-file for hand after having produced the Music XML-file by MuseScore. Can be heard at www.programfabriken.com and the xml-file is included in the midi.zip-file. Noted t...

Re: Guitar tab performance instructions

Hello Snake and all Thanks for your good comment. What do the originators of Music XML think about adding such stuff as properties to a note definition? Advantage: Works with existing programs MuseScore and Finale (ignored - a warning comes in Finale). May be expanded with all symbols listed in Guit...

Re: Guitar tab performance instructions

Hello Snake and all Doing the music-xml-player I have some thoughts about this. I would like vibrato, mute and let-ring to be a property of the note and also have informnation of how to do this. The example of an F-note below shows a solution with 8 times vibrato and 50% of a note step. This should ...

Who are we? Frankfurt and more

Hello All I have often wondered: Who are you all? (Professionals?) I am just singing in a little choir. Since I am not good in note reading, I needed some simple program to play a melody with selected voices - simple and easy. (i.e. only playing the xml file - no installation and free) And did that ...

Re: MusicXML community meetings in 2014

Hello "Snake" and others About palm mute (from the Music Xml definition): Element "mute" defined in common.mod: The mute element represents muting for different instruments, including brass, winds, and strings. The on and off values are used for undifferentiated mutes. The remaining values represent...
