Re: Lament

Larry Alexander wrote:Excellent writing, Mister Tom!

That is a fine choral sample library and you do it justice. Thank you for sharing your music with us.

Best,

The Old Christmas Clock

Now this one is just silly, but I couldn't resist. Going through the attic recently I stumbled upon an old, old mantle clock that we used to put over the fire place every Christmas. It stopped working a long time ago. When I picked it up it made all kinds a little clunks and rattling sounds. I start...

Re: Wind / Percussion Sketch

Not written to be played? Perhaps not, but there is a world of appreciative listeners that would love this piece in whatever form they could get it. Whether for film, theater or live performance, this deserves to be heard. Ummm - would you consider allowing it to be used as a sound track in an indie...

Re: Wind / Percussion Sketch

What wonderfully controlled dissonance. This is a pleasure to listen to. I'd love to see the score. I know you said Finale 2010 and Garritan Orchestra - did you not use a DAW?

Re: COMB too quiet compared to GPO and CPO

I use the COMB instruments a lot with other Garritan libraries and have not found the volume problem you describe. Have you tried to compensate the volumes from the "Studio" view in the tools bar?

Re: Lament

Bill,

Thank you for listening. I used Eastwest Quantum Leap Symphonic Choirs Play Edition directly in Finale 2014 - no DAW. I used the Votox system with Dark Abby presets.

Lament

When their youngest member is found dead by suicide, they lament on not having realized his pain. We did not know, we did not know We did not understand. He was so alone, so afraid of death What have we done? What have we done? Oh, God We did not hear, we did not hear We did not listen Is thee no ho...

Re: Snorlax Returns.

Welcome back. The older Garritan forum is still very much alive.

Re: Christmas already?

Thank you, Gary. I have written quite a bit for the bassoon and oboe, but not the English horn. In larger works I usually combine celli with the bassoons. That results in the celli being the dominant sound, highlighted by the grittier bassoon beneath. Not always exactly what I am looking for. So any...

Christmas already?

A local college is performing a modern morality play which asks what would happen if the Christ showed up to a group of street kids in 2015. This piece "Softly Spoke the Angels" is the end of Act I. It presents the sleeping kids reaction to a sudden pronouncement by angels that the Son of ...
