Re: Need GPO5 to work in Sibelius 8

Here is a soundset (hopefully stable) that does not include the new GOS strings. It'll use the legacy GPO4 Strings, and should have everything else GPO5 has to offer (choirs, pianos, organs, etc). Feel free to give it a try. Let me know if you find any bugs. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-9pjh4...

Re: GPO5 - more to come!

Some of this looks like GPO4 stuff, which leads me to wonder if I can uninstall GPO4 and expect backwards compatibility with older expression maps (I.E. GPO4 soundset for Sibelius). Currently, I've left GPO4 installed for Sibelius' sake. I recognize these instruments right away: Standard/05 Keyboard...

Re: To those saying Garritan trumpets sound fake

Just read Credo's very thorough post. Didn't exactly use any of his comments but he did inspire me to just go back and explore the Score Manager and the different sounds in JABB3. ... Now that we're talking about audio recording...as I was trying to get a decent rhythm mix on a BB piece I'm working...

Re: Profound Disappointment

If you want to use the "Garritan Orchestral" Solo Strings, consider using 'Martele' and/or 'Detache' for the fast passages. Martele and Detache do have some settings (tone and velocity attack) that allow some flexibility in how it's going to sound in context. One can also construct a combi...

Re: GPO5 and Sibelius 8

I've yet to really dive in to GPO5, but here are some thoughts and theories on the topic. In the short term simply install and try using the sound set for GPO4 . I 'think' GPO5 comes with enough backwards compatibility for GPO4 that it should get you started. I can't test this theory seeing as I als...

Re: Weird Behavior from Finale after Update

Running Version 2014D.v5545 Mac OS 10.7.5 Just updated to the latest version of Finale this morning and now I cannot add lyrics… Very strange. I was working on the same document this morning before updating and had no problems. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, EB I'm afraid you may have stumbled into...

Re: Octave Transpose for Aria Play

You can do this to some degree (though this method may stretch or speed up the sample). Click the 'Info' tab on the right edge of ARIA player. In each instrument tab you should see the word 'tune'. If you click that word and drag the mouse up or down, you can tune the patch by semi-tones. If you wan...

Re: JBB3 & Sibelius | Key switching

I can't check it out directly right now to see if I get the same here, but you might find this helpful if you want to examine, tweak, add to, or even create brand new soundworld expression maps. http://www.sibelius.com/download/sse/main.html Personally I've found that it seems to work well out of th...

Re: Garritan right choice?

I've been strongly considering purchasing Garritan in the future but I'm a lot more familiar with music tracking. My question is, hypothetically, could I use/export samples in a way to work with a music tracker? If anything else I'll suck it up but basically I'd like to be able to have the music pl...

Re: Aria player playback

I do NOT think saving an instrument/patch, or an 'Ensemble' sound-set (group of up to 16 instruments) saves the MIDI File. The '*.aria' file will be the settings of an individual instrument or ensemble set. I.E. Where you've set things like sliders and knobs on the mixer or in the 'controls' tab(s) ...
