Number of Staves per Part

In the note element we can specify <staff>1</staff> <staff>2</staff> , etc. But do we declare the number of staves that are in a part anywhere? If I want to know how many staves are in a part, do I need to read all of the music data looking for the largest <staff> value, or can we find it somewhere ...

Re: Going from Logic Pro X to Sibelius.

If I Should Lose You_346_2_503.xml

I don't see a file attachment. I was going to see if Finale would open your file but I don't think there is a file here to download.

License Question

I am working on a "strongly typed" binding of the MusicXML specification in C++. The program will be a static and/or dynamically linked library. Do I need to include the full text of the MusicXML 3.0 license in every *.cpp and *.h file?

Sequences containing only one element. What is the benefit?

What is the benefit of defining a sequence that contains only one element? For example: <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="footnote" type="formatted-text"/> </xs:sequence> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="level" type="level"/> </xs:sequence>

Re: RSS Feed?

Is there any chance of creating these for the Finale users forums as well? When searching I only found this http://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=5&m=139594

Re: Dolet 6.5 for Finale now available with SMuFL export

Wow, the new CEO's commitment to modernizing Finale's build and quality management is very encouraging. 2014 Mac was a total bomb for me when it came out. I got the feeling that there is a ton of legacy code in there just waiting for someone to make a change and blow the whole works (I had a lot of ...

Re: Properly referencing the xsd in a document (supernoob)

Hmmm, bad questions or dead site? I read that dolet plugin can be set to reference the xsd, so perhaps I can export a file from finale using the dolet plugin, telling it to reference xsd and see how it does this in its output. I haven't tried this yet though.

Properly referencing the xsd in a document (supernoob)

A few months ago when beginning this difficult learning process, I chose to learn xml schema instead of dtd since xml schema is more precise. Now I'm discovering that Finale exports xml files that reference the dtd and all of the examples on the musicxml site reference the dtd. So I'm having trouble...

Re: Are complexTypes Elements? (drowning in xsd)

I now see that a complexType can be used as the type="_" attribute of an xs:element.

Sorry for my nonsensical thread, I'm finding this very difficult to learn!
