Re: [MAC] Must "Authenticate" Plug-in, No option to do so

The readme file explains what to do in this situation - follow the manual installation instructions there, with the correct that Frank Fitzpatrick noted here a few days ago. This might happen if you have not run Finale 2012 yet, or if you have changed where you installed Finale 2012 or its plug-ins ...

Re: Where to put dolet 6 plug-in for Mac Finale 2011

Thank you for pointing this out! Indeed the plug-in location changed in Finale 2011 and the documentation does not describe the steps correctly for Finale 2011. We plan to fix this for the next version of the Dolet for Finale plug-in.

Re: Finale Exported XML will not open in Sibelius

Hmm, Sibelius should not be refusing to load that file - that should be a recoverable error. In the past I thought that Sibelius would load files like that. Of course we would prefer that Finale not export a MusicXML file with that type of error. This sounds like an error we have seen occasionally b...

Re: How do I change the color of a words element?

The letters in the color need to be in uppercase: rather than Otherwise, that is indeed how you would specify the color change in MusicXML. However, you will also need a MusicXML reader that supports these types of color changes. Many scoring applications don't seem to support this MusicXML feature ...

Re: microtone in XML

As Mogens mentions, MusicXML handles sounding microtones by using decimal values in the alter element. The alter element uses semitones, so 0.5 would be 1/4 sharp and 1.5 would be 3/4 sharp. MusicXML also has many microtonal accidentals in the accidental element, including the quarter-sharp and thre...

Re: musicXML chord positions

Generally, chord symbols indicated by the harmony element should precede the related note in the MusicXML timeline. Like direction elements, they can also have an offset element to indicate the offset from the current musical position in musical units. This should be better for associating chord sym...

Re: Lyrics - to which note does syllable belong?

Thank you, Mogens! I have added a comment there and marked it in progress and in scope for MusicXML 3.1. This is issue 151 at https://github.com/w3c/musicxml/issues/151.

Re: Missing rotation in other-notation

Hi Didier, That is correct. Should there be? What is leading you to look for this? We are busy working on MusicXML 3.1 now in the W3C Music Notation Community Group . So this is the time to bring up issues like this. Membership in the group is free of charge, and it would be great to have Myriad join.
