Re: Lyrics - to which note does syllable belong?

Yes, exactly - I want to position the lyrics in the Midi stream(Meta-Event FF 05 ..). My player writes the song text and an arrow shows current position while playing. Until now I have thought in verse-numbers and repeat-numbers. But of cause we could instead think of which time a note is played. Th...

Lyrics - to which note does syllable belong?

Again and again I have the problem of how to place lyrics in the music. Some songs have no repeats but e.g. three lines of text - then you know there are three verses. Other songs specify repeats and therefore the syllables of lyric-lines should be coupled to repeats. Many have both verses and repea...

Re: string and fret representation for guitar pieces in XML  <SOLVED>

To me it seems OK. The two first notes in the tablature is A-string fret 0 and 2. The Capo is specified on 4th fret makes the real fret be 4 and 6. This makes the notes C# and D#. This correspond to the MusicXML file: "<step>C</step><alter>1</alter><octave>3</octave>" and "<step>D</st...

Re: string and fret representation for guitar pieces in XML  <SOLVED>

Interesting question. There are definitions <string> and <fret> defined in the DTD in the section "Note elements". Not much text describing it - but I inserted the definitions like this (<notations>....</notations>): <note default-x="75.18" default-y="-50.00"> <pitch> <...

Re: Swing Playback in 6/8 Time Won't Work

And I thought that swing was merely a question of lazy people having music in 12/8, but still writing 4/4 in the score - because they considered it easier. Some documents on the internet says that Finale can apply swing to 2/4, 3/3 and 4/4. But why using "Swing" - better do it right, becau...

Re: illogical <forward> element in samples

I think that 32 forward and 32 backwards brings you back to start. And that this has been
added manually to stress the system (i.e. my program and your program) for test - not because it makes any sense.

Kind regards
Mogens

PS: I have had my "fun" with exactly the files you mention
