Re: String samples without vibrato

Yes, sadly I can confirm that there are no vibratoless strings in GPO5 just as there weren't in 4. I do believe that they were intended to be there but maybe they ran out of time. At least for solo strings. Why do I think this? In my work to make some alterations to the GPO5 xml and sfz files I stum...

Re: Sticking Notes In Reaper

Michael, It seems to me this may be a problem unique to Reaper and VST instruments. Certainly your post concerning no problem until entering further CC's points me in that direction. Somehow a CC being inserted interrupts the note on ... note off process, deleting the corresponding note off in certa...

Re: GPO5 USB FLASH DRIVE

Derrek,

If you kept the download you'll be able to tell because the install file (for Windows) is called "WIN_Garritan_Personal_Orchestra_5.01.exe", I'm guessing the Mac one will have "5.01" in the name too.

John

Re: GPO5 USB FLASH DRIVE

Tom,
They didn't send out the USB drives until the update to 5.01 was complete.
Again, there were some updates to the xml and sfz files which made certain instruments play better. i.e. changes to loop points, using the samples in slightly altered ways.
These updates are worthwhile IMO.
Regards,
John.

Re: GPO 5: Harp Glissando MIDI Files?

Hi,

I think they got missed out of GPO5 but were included in the 5.01 update.
Anyway, I've sent you a P.M.

John.

Re: Sticking Notes In Reaper

Michael, Have you taken a look at the Garritan support pages, the User Manuals? There is a relatively new manual called "Using Garritan with DAW Software" and there's a specific section on Reaper. I don't know if it's up to date with the latest version of Reaper, but it might help to check...

Re: GPO5 USB FLASH DRIVE

Hi Tom, If you check out what's in the library, you should find that the installation program is either Win or Mac GPO 5.01 executable. If you bought your GPO5 copy soon after it became available, then it's most likely to be GPO5.0. There were some modifications made to the xml and sfz files and, I ...

Re: Where to put samples?

Hi Merwyn, Simple answer, no, no problem. During the install process, in the second phase, the install program will suggest a default location for the samples i.e. on a PC, "C:\Program Files\Garritan\Personal Orchestra 5\Samples\", but you can insert your own value here to put them on anot...

Re: Installing JABB3 after GPO5

Hi Jerry, Well, it's up to you. The new version of the ARIA player (1.872) is available on the MM Garritan downloads page, as is the latest update to the engine at the Plogue site. So you could re-install those after doing a standard installation. However, I'm not sure whether the install process fo...

Re: Sound distortion when using Scala files

It's my belief that ARIA does not support Scala files that have more than 12 notes per octave.

However, you might be better off asking the same question to a Plogue representative over at their forum. Plogue ARIA forum.

Plogue is the creator of the ARIA program which they license to Garritan.
