Re: Quick MIDI Question

By default the Aria player assigns MIDI Channel 1 to its first slot, MIDI 2 to its second slot, etc. (although MIDI channels for the slots are changeable by clicking on the channel number and reassigning the channel from a pull-down menu). That way a single instance of the Aria player can hold up to...

If you are using GPO with FInale, did you also load the interface files

Re: Bari Sax Shuts Off?

Is any MIDI command (in Logic or an imported MIDI file) sending info to the instrument to cut the volume?

Re: Bari Sax Shuts Off?

Is your Volume-controller setting in Logic changing in measure three for some reason? The Aria mixer is likely slaved to Logic as it is in Finale where Finale settings override Aria settings.

Re: Massed mandolin orchestra sounds

Garritan has information about its upcoming upgrade to GPO4 at http://www.garritan.com/blog/garritan-personal-orchestra-5-coming-soon/ . As far as I can see, there are no massed mandolins. You might be able to export your FInale file in MIDI and simulate the sounds in a DAW using duplicate lines and...

Re: GPO5 - Tell Me What you Want, What You Really Really Wan

I would imagine you could find a way to keep the oboe samples when you upgrade and hope that the new Aria player would load them. I can't think why not unless the sample format has been updated--which I doubt.

Re: How to Use GPO 4

Other than loading a pre-existing MIDI file (created elsewhere) into the Aria Player set up with the corresponding channels assigned to the desired instrument sounds, one does not actually "write" music in Aria. Most people who use Aria to create music use it as a plug-in in a DAW such as ...

Re: Garritan CFX Grand

"Preparing Regions" seems to be a (usually short-lived) message given when the Aria Player loads a sound file (or multiple sound files). No idea what it means, and my experience has been that it does not take noticeably longer (in a PC) than before. I do not, however, have the CFX Grand.

Re: Pipe organ - excess note delay

If the Garritan organ was recorded with reverb, you are out of luck. But the Aria player has several pages (Mixer, Effects, Settings, etc.) and I would check the Effects page to see if either Ambiance or Convolution are turned on. Play with the settings to see how that affects your sounds.
