Re: Sound distortion when using Scala files

The settings screen appears to affect all the instruments, which suggests that if you only want some instruments to play specific scala scales, then you will likely want to use multiple instances of Aria in Finale or your DAW.

Re: MIDI file rendering with GPO5/Standalone Aria player

Aria has 16 instrument slots, any one of which can be assigned to any MIDI channel. You can see in the illustration that the Render Offline option gives you a place to name your MIDI input file and give your output (WAV) file a name. Although Aria has a mixer to balance tracks against each other (wh...

Re: Missing Sound Samples

My Garritan files are on Windows, so I'm not sure file size comparison would be helpful. Have you asked your question at the Northern Sounds Garritan BBS? You might get more answers there.

Re: GPO 5: Solo Violin: Modulating Vibrato

I don't believe GPO 5 violins can modulate vibrato.

Re: Missing Sound Samples

My download seems to have everything. I notice that GPO5 is labeled "Personal Orchestra 5" to make it clearly different from GPO4, which is labeled just "GPO."

Re: Ensemble problems again

Glad you got Aria to work w/ PT.
For Aria to play in standalone, you'd have Aria open a MIDI file with MIDI channels that correspond to your Aria slot & channel assignments. Not sure how you would cue Aria to play as part of a larger work.

Re: Ensemble problems again

Can you post an image (screenshot) showing how (some of) your Aria instrument tracks are set up/appear in PT? What does PT look like behind the track screen, where you define each instrument. If PT only allows one instrument for each virtual synth, you may need a separate instance of Aria/Plogue sfz...

Re: Ensemble problems again

The Avid web site lists only the Garritan Piano as an add-on, although you might be able to access Garrtian sounds via the Plogue sfz engine. By default each "slot" of the Aria player is assigned to its corresponding MIDI channel, but you can click on the channel indication (see diagram) a...

Re: Ensemble problems again

PT12.4 is Pro Tools, right? Pro Tools must have the ability to send different tracks on different MIDI channels, which would be required to realize the different slots of the Aria player/plug-in. I know this works in Sonar and wish I knew more about the Pro Tools interface so I could give you more s...

Re: Aria Player Version 1.872

The update was announced on the Garritan Blog page http://www.garritan.com/blog/ MM seems to be fragmenting their communications system. You can no longer comment on their Finale or Garritan Blog pages; they want you to go to FB or Twitter, which to me seems mindless. How do you explain what you are...
