Re: The reason this Forum is rather dead

Hello: Yes, your reason could be valid. Our most talented MM product posters have moved on, I am happy I was in here when they were active. Still, things happen in cycles, and the forum could be repopulated in time. Again, I answer what I can, but only basic question largely. It is distressing, as I...

Tex Mex "Borracho"

I have an old friend who's been producing midi files for decades. He sent me some, I opened finale and imported one of the files and "voila", the staves for the instruments appeared, which was news to me. The staves were labeled chord 1, chord 2, lead, bass, drums. I did some work in final...

whats the deal with northern sounds ?

Hello, I registered with northern sounds a year ago, and as soon as I log in, it makes all the categories private. If I try to access my profile, it says I do not the authority to access this page. If I log out, I can see everything in the forums. This happens intermittently, sometimes I can log in ...

Re: Fantasia for Clarinet by W.F. Rayer

Bravo , Mr. wrayer, a nice piece of work fer sure ! I believe I heard some whole tone motives, yes ? The quality of the music was very realistic and convincing. Could you provide some background on the piece ? Libraries used, did you use a daw ? Anyway, superb, and good luck.

Re: Mourning Moon

No problem, Catihlynn. I have received a huge amount of assistance in this forum. Musical Theory, is an endless train of thought, but, let me clarify, and take that most basic concept of music theory, and apply it to your progression I-VI-IV-V Your song is in C major. The voicing you used for the I ...

Re: Mourning Moon

Caithlynn: The production work is fabulous, very professional, clear and precise. I agree with Fabio's statement. Your song is a I-VI-IV-V progression in C major. It could be more harmonically interesting if you had thrown in a III harmony, or created a B section, maybe III to VI. Also, don't be shy...

Re: West Chinatown 2

Thank you, Caithlynn, I used finale pm 2011, GPO4, and GWI to compose, the file was edited in reaper daw. It is written in dorian mode, and reharmonized into harmonic minor halfway through the piece.
