Re: How do I switch instruments

Are you running ARIA stand alone or as a plugin? If you're running it stand alone, or as a plugin in a tracking DAW (or a Notation package that doesn't support real time instrument changes in ARIA), simply load your Trumpet in one slot, and your Flugel in another. When you are ready to change instru...

Re: Spiccato loudness with KS

Thanks, CC12 helped. When I load a new instance of the ARIA player, I have it always set somewhere in the middle so I need to reset (max-out) it manually every time. If you want to change the default for a CC you can add a default setting to the <control> group near the top of an sfz file. Sometime...

Re: A GPO5 Soundset for Sibelius

Here is my newest GPO5 soundset for Sibelius (Version 22). https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-9pjh4Xl8gsN0JoY0Vic3dfWlk This time I include the new Orchestral Strings and auto interpretive sticky node support for most of the keyswitches. Legacy strings can still be dialed up via the Sibelius Mixer ...

Re: Spiccato loudness with KS

Spiccato/Staccato/Martele/Sautille/Sul tasto/pizzicato/col legno............ Those all use both CC1 AND key velocity to get dynamics, where the sustains get it from CC1 (or CC11). I took a look at the sfz file for the 4 Violas and see that you can adjust the "velocity tracking" for that pa...

Re: Attn: Adam, Fred and others in Colorado

Well said, and I agree. The new setup is quite substandard compared to this and the Finale forum. I also miss the true book-style (or pdf) documentation with GPO5. It's quite difficult to simply read the whole thing from cover to cover, and some parts of it don't even show up unless you run 'searche...

Re: Profound Disappointment

I know this is an old thread but I've recently discovered a parameter that makes a huge difference. CC119 allows you to offset the 'attack' part of Garritan Orchestral instruments. Example: Say you have a really fast legato run....at default settings it's barely audible because all you get is the in...

Re: Need GPO5 to work in Sibelius 8

Yes, I started with the old GPO4 soundset and adjusted accordingly to account for GPO5. I've much larger versions where I'm trying to get the new GOS strings to work well but it has far too many issues to post anywhere at this time. I put this together using Sibelius 8.5 on Windows 10 with an xml ed...

A GPO5 Soundset for Sibelius

Here is a soundset (hopefully stable) that does not include the new GOS strings. It'll use the legacy GPO4 Strings, but should have everything else GPO5 has to offer (choirs, pianos, organs, etc). Perhaps I'll add GOS strings in the near future. Personally, I find the GOS strings so robust that it's...
