Curve Continue

I am trying to understand the specification for curves (ties and slurs). A slur continue defines a point with default/relative/x/y as well as two bezier points with bezier/x/y/offset/2. So does the curve continue define a single point through which the curve passes as well as two bezier handles? Als...

Re: Overlapping Groups

p.s. I'm concerned about the fact that the 'number' attribute is optional and described with "The number attribute is used to distinguish overlapping and nested part-groups, not the sequence of groups." I guess 'group-id' would have been a better name for this attribute (in retrospect) and...

Overlapping Groups

I understand the concept of nested part groups like this <part-group number="1" type="start"/> ...parts... <part-group number="2" type="start"/> ...parts... <part-group number="2" type="stop"/> ...parts... <part-group number="1" t...

Dolet 6 with Finale 25

After installing Finale 25 on El Capital and then installing Dolet 6 with Dolet67FinaleMac.zip, I see the MusicXML submenu in my plugins menu, but when I go to that menu line, no submenu items appear. BTW, the alias folder for Finale 25 was not there so I found the path and dragged the plugin manual...

Re: Differences between XSD and DTD

Thanks, I'm finding some mistakes in my model that must have occurred when traversing attribute group references.

Re: Differences between XSD and DTD

As I work through my input test cases, I am finding things in the Lilypond MusicXML test suite that appear to be invalid per the XSD. Here are some examples: * 01e_Pitches_ParenthesizedAccidentals.xml incorrectly uses "double-flat" which should be "flat-flat" instead * 22b_Staff_...

Re: double-flat?

I just hit this gotchya in the Lilypond "unofficial music xml test suit" ‘01e-Pitches-ParenthesizedAccidentals.xml’ has values of "double-flat" (at least the copy I have does). The link on the page seems to be broken: http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.18/input/regression/musicxml/collat...

Differences between XSD and DTD

I have built my model of MusicXML from the XSD (3.0) specification, but I see here http://www.musicxml.com/for-developers/musicxml-xsd/ that XSD is stricter than DTD. I have also noticed that many MusicXML documents specify DTD validation in their DOCTYPE statements. This is a concern as I am now wo...

Re: Number of Staves per Part

I see now that the number of staves is specified within each measure:

Code: Select all
<staves>2</staves>
