Barline-related segno, coda or fermata

Bonjour, Could someone clarify the status of segno/coda/fermata? I noticed they could be barline-related or direction-related. How could an OMR make the decision? The HandJuMa36Excerpt example exhibits a direction-related segno which nevertheless is located just above a barline... Searching this for...

Re: Opus examples?

For those interested, ProxyMusic (LGPL) now supports Opus entities and compressed .mxl files.
See ProxyMusic home page

Enjoy!

Barline reference abscissa

Bonjour, A MusicXML (logical) barline can represent a simple (physical) vertical line as well as a more complex sequence of (physical) items, for example: repeat dots, thin line, thick line. In the latter case, how do we define the reference abscissa of the (logical) barline? (this barline abscissa ...

How can we search this forum?

Hi All, This may sound like a stupid question, since there is indeed a search input field followed by a button at the top of forum home page. However, if I type something like "measure barline", with or without the quotes, in the search field and press Enter, I get this message: The follow...

Re: Opus examples?

Everything now works nicely, except for a minor point: unmarshalling is a bit awkward, since I have to know in advance whether I'm going to unmarshal an Opus file or a ScorePartwise file! (because of the collisions above, I cannot simply let JAXB discover the XML root element...). I'm left with two...

Re: Opus examples?

Thanks Michael for your feedback. I do think Opus is a useful feature: Suppose you are scanning a page which combines the end of a movement with the beginning of the next one. See Mozart 40th symphony on IMSLP, page 33, for such example. You cannot put everything into a single ScorePartwise instance...

Re: Opus examples?

Hi Michael and list, I plan to use this notion of opus when scanning several pages with Audiveris and detecting the start of a new movement: combining opus with compressed MXL seems the way to go. So I'm updating ProxyMusic to support both opus and mxl. However, trying to feed Finale with an opus fi...

Re: Dealing with name space

Hi Michael,

I had already searched on Internet of course, but Googling with "JAXB without namespace" turned out to be really efficient: I found a solution with this Blaise Doughan article, and updated ProxyMusic software accordingly.

Thanks a lot!

Dealing with name space

Bonjour, ProxyMusic makes a very basic use of JAXB to generate Java binding from MusicXML schema. And the marshalling produces XML content as follows: (xml & DOCTYPE lines omitted) <score-partwise xmlns:ns3="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xmlns="" version="3.0"> [......
