Re: Garritan Player and Libraries

GIFF should install as part of the Finale program as long as it isn't the demo version . There should be some kind of dialogue box for it after the main part of the install is done. I think some people may have had problems when trying to put GIFF on something other than the default disk. Try doing ...

Re: Garritan Player and Libraries

You don't need the original versions of GPO and JABB unless you have some reason for wanting to use Kontakt Player. I don't have 2014d, but I think its version of GIFF may have some world instruments that are not included in GPO or JABB. Also, if you have a playback problem with a Finale file that u...

Re: Quarter Sharps and Flats

The Help File deals specifically with arrow quarter tone notation and that's all I've used. The File contains a large number of steps, but they are accurate and they work. I don't know of any way of short cutting the process. FWIW, this is not the Finale Forum; it is a Garritan Forum. There are peop...

Re: Quarter Sharps and Flats

You don't say what program you are using. If it is Finale, and you want to notate the quarter tones, look in the help index for non standard key signatures and there should be a link there for creating quarter tone scales/key signatures. Finale playback is based on MIDI and uses 12 half steps. I thi...

Re: Aria Player and Garritan sounds

I'm not sure what you mean by "default mode," but in the Finale Midi/Audio menu, you need to make sure that "Play Finale through VST is checked." If you're trying to play different instruments at the same time using Speedy Entry, I don't think you can. Maybe you need to check out...

Re: Harmonium sound in GPO

It's one of those MakeMusic peculiarities we all love. The Aria Player lists it under GWI/other/Asia. The Setup Wizard in Finale puts it under All/Keyboards (It's not listed under World, but it loads GWI when it finishes.) MM likes to keep us on our toes. However, the OP doesn't appear to own GWI, b...

Re: Harmonium sound in GPO

This may be sacrilege, but the GWI harmonium sounds quite similar to the SoftSynth accordian.

Re: World Instruments: Concertina

I'm certainly not an expert on concertinas, having only touched one once in my life, but my impression is that they are not a good choice if you want to play fast passages of music (ie 16th notes at qn=155). You can speed up the GWI instrument if you turn off the bellows (CC12) and the Ambience. You...

Re: GPO5 - Tell Me What you Want, What You Really Really Wan

How about dumping the GPO4 Steinway piano and replacing it with the GAS Basic one? That was quite a decent piano and apparently isn't being sold anymore. Those for whom something high end makes sense could still purchase CFX.

Crows

https://soundcloud.com/user397358475/crows-instrumental This piece started out as a song a couple of years ago and I just updated it to an instrumental version (GPO violin and cello, GAS Basic, and GWI santoor). The original poem was about crows, and a little bit spooky. The music tries to follow i...
