Re: RE: Opus examples?

Hi Mario, I don't know if any distributed software is currently supporting the opus. However, we have used it for some internal programs here. Here is a short example from Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben cycle. The opus file collects the 8 MusicXML score-partwise files for each individual song int...

How to represent note 'H' in MusicXML?

Hi! MusicXML uses letters A through G to represent note step and harmony root/bass steps. How should one encode the H note step of German/European style instead of step B? I.e. if I would like to have chord H7 instead of B7?

About staff-layout usage

Hi again, I want a bit more clarification how to express multiple single-staff parts with variable staff distance. It seems that defaults element containing staff-layout element affects all parts. The print element with staff-layout for example in a measure affects only that measure (or system?) if ...

Staff-size contents in a one-line staff?

Hi, I'm implementing a MusicXML encoder for my program. If I use staff-details element and the child staff-size, I understand this is the percentage of the height of default (5-line?) staff . But what if I want to describe a one-line percussion staff: how shall one calculate the staff-size? Marko --...

How to use group/part-name-display

Hi, I didn't find any examples of the use of group-name-display etc. in the example files of MusicXML. Is the element meant to be the place for font attributes and other display data and the actual name is still defined at group-name element? Like ... <group-name>Keyboards</group-name> <group-name-d...

Re: How to define a block of text in MusicMXL?

Hi Michael the processing instructions seem to be the thing I've searched for. Thanks! Marko Hi Marko, Sorry for not answering earlier - it's been very busy here getting MusicXML 2.0 finished. To do this 100% in MusicXML, you could write out the background box as its own image file, and link to it w...

Re: How to define a block of text in MusicMXL?

Hei Michael I may have missed your answer, but I asked after your good answer about using credit-words element to implement multiple-line text blocks: My program's text blocks have also background box with its own colour, border and the internal margins between the border and the actual text. How sh...

Re: How to define a block of text in MusicMXL?

Hi Michael thanks, the credit element may be the solution. If I understand correctly, for a multi-font, multi-colour, multi-line text block there must also be multiple credit elements (or credit-words in a credit). Another thing: my program will also support some basic graphics shapes to decorate no...

How to define a block of text in MusicMXL?

Hi,

The headline says it all: how to define a block of lyric text in MusicXML? I.e. with songs in a song book there are lyrics of one verse straight below the staves and the next verses are written as blocks of text under the whole piece.
