Home made fixes for Pipe Organs

Hi there, I have had this for some time now in my drawer, I decided to share. There are a couple of easy-to-fix bugs in the Pipe Organs libraries, which make it sometime annoying to use, and unfortunately MakeMusic doesn't care to create an update for the library, so here is what you (they) could do...

Re: License

Of course you can! It would be quite an interesting music product if noone could listen to the music you are creating.

Re: Support

Hi Briff, Care to make those 'corrected' files available? Regards, John. I'm not sure I can legally make those publicly available, as the license doesn't really allow sharing the programming. What I can do probably is to describe the necessary changes, but that needs more time than just uploading t...

Re: Support

Yeah, no updates for years for clear and easy to fix bugs. Actually I did fix like 20 simple sfz programming bugs in Pipe Organs myself.

Re: Classic Organ Voice Range

just change the last line in both regions.
(there is a separate sample which is played when the note is released, so if you just change the sustain, you will extend the voice range for pressing, but releasing will not play for the extended notes, so the note will just stop)

Re: Classic Organ Voice Range

Yes. It's easy. E.g. take a "Baroque Copula Maj.sfz" - there will be <region>s. Hikey shows the highest key playing a given sample. Just increase the value and reload. Actually there are more serious problems, some files contains bad octave settings, a quintadena is erroneously transposed ...

Re: Classic Organs Collection: Emulate Stops?

I use Reaper's actions for that purpose. I set up combinations in separate Aria instances and then assign arm and unarm to some midi notes (or CC's)
The advantage is that this way I can record the switches, disadvantage is that I cannot easily switch just ranks.

Re: No True Pedal or Realpedal on Yamaha CFX

What you describe sound clear errors in the library. Unfortunately since MakeMusic has acquired Garritan there have been no updates to any libraries, they didn't fix anything.

Re: CPO Renaissance Organ

You can extend the range of the organ by changing the SFZ files in Notepad:
e.g. look for "Ren Stopped Flutes.sfz" and "Ren Stopped Flutes Mappings.sfz"
files. There you will find "region"-s.
Just change the lokey=45 to lokey=32 and voila.
